MSWRR holds virtual meeting with volunteers and philanthropic organizations

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khine presided over a virtual coordination meeting with volunteers and philanthropic organizations in regions and states with high infection rates yesterday.
The Union Minister said the meeting was held to boost cooperation with the volunteers and charitable organizations in conducting COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities in the third wave in addition to the difficulties to resolve.
She also appreciated efforts exerted by volunteers and Parahitas for carrying out the needed measures for COVID-19 suspected patients, cured patients including funeral services and other preventive measures in line with the health rules of the Ministry of Health and Sports.
Then, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Soe Tint Naing highlighted the efforts of Parahitas for many sectors although they are not organized under the 2014 Law for Registration of Organizations and assistance by volunteers for the sake of the country and public during the pandemic.
Deputy Minister for MSWRR U Aung Tun Khine also discussed the COVID-19 economic relief plans and other work plans to be conducted together with the government and volunteers.
Then, the other attendees to the meeting coordinated the meeting before the Union Minister concluded it.—MNA
