Import processes of anti-COVID-19 equipment run as usual

The Ministry of Commerce currently imposes temporary import licence exemptions for medical supplies to control the COVID-19 and offers services to import the materials via the border trade camps daily. Moreover, the ministry is working with the relevant departmental officials to facilitate the importation processes during public holidays in accordance with the notifications and SOP.
A total of 4,778 oxygen concentrators and 15,900 test kits arrived at Yangon International Airport yesterday. A bowser carrying 40 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 11 tonnes of liquid oxygen (cylinders), 9,872 home oxygen concentrators, and 2 oxygen plants and 141 tonnes of masks were also imported via Muse, Myawady, Chinshwehaw and Kampaiti trade camps on the same day. These materials were imported by 57 vehicles of 36 companies.
From 12 to 31 July, 727 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 567 tonnes of liquid oxygen tank, 69,146 home oxygen concentrators, 322,878 test kits, 1,104 tonnes of mask, 8 oxygen tank, 11 oxygen generators and 4 oxygen concentrators were allowed to be imported by 749 vehicles.
The Ministry of Commerce is also cooperating with the ministry concerned to import the medical supplies. It also releases contact persons of relevant border trade checkpoints. — MNA
