Heroin, stimulant tablets worth over K1.89 billion seized

A joint team of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched a six-wheel truck driven by Hla Soe Oo (alias) Hla Oo, 38-year-old near Oriental Toll Gate, Muse-Mandalay Road, Nawngyio Township on 14 September.
A search of the six-wheeled vehicle turned up 118.34 kilograms of heroin and 240,000 stimulant tablets worth 1.98 billion kyats in 38 bags covered in old papers.
According to the investigation, Kyaw Zay, 43-year-old, and Aung Soe, 31-year-old, were arrested along with a Honda Airwave vehicle for transporting drugs near Wetwun village, PyinOoLwin Township at 5:30 am.
The seized drugs will be transported from Hsipaw Township, Northern Shan State to Mandalay, according to the investigation. The three suspects are being charged under the Law and investigations are underway to capture the rest of the suspects, Myanmar Police Force said. — MNA
