Construction of Government Technical Institute (Dala) under implementation

The Department of Technical, Vocational Education and Training has been implementing the construction of the Government Technical Institute (Dala) under the allocated state budget in each financial year starting from the 2019-2020FY on 25 acres of land at No.186 plot of 11/14 Ward, Dala Township, with a view to encouraging emergence of technicians to excel in their career paths, developing skills and capacity and producing the skilled technicians for the socio-economic development of the State (top photo).
“The construciton of dormitory housing for male and female students was totally completed. Two steel structure workshops, a 192×38 feet three-storey lecture hall and one staff housing will be constructed in the next mini-budget. The project commenced in the 2019-2020 FY. The consutction work is ongoing. Once it is completed, the institute will offer vocational courses in industry and is expected to proudce about 300 engineers holding AGTI Diploma certificate,” said Principal U Myat Ko of the Government Technical Institute (Insein).
This project will include 192×39 feet RC three-storey building for training, 78×94 feet staff housing, two four-storey RC buildings, two 125x82x18 feet steel structure workshops, two gates, other utilities inclduing power and wate supply, waste management and water sotrage, a 50×36 feet RC building for management office, a 36×48 feet RC kitchen theatre, one 60×50 feet RC building, one 88×44 feet two storeyed buildings for training, one 156×40 feet two-storeyed academic building, a 152×34 feet two-storeyed dormitory, one 78×94 feet four staff housing and one 217×130 feet three-storeyed main building.
This institute will birng the great opportunities to the local residents in Dala, Twantay, Seikkyi Khanaungto, Kawhmu and Kungyangon townships in South Yangon District and Ayeyawady Region. It also helps mobilize the human resources for the public sector goals.
Additionally, the insitute also gives the opportunities to take up new carrers in the industry and enhance the socio-economic status of the low-income students.—Naing Lin Kyaw (IPRD)/GNLM
