The Meeting of the Central Committee on Ensuring Smooth Flow of Trade and Goods of the State Administration Council was held at the meeting hall of the Office of the State Administration Council yesterday afternoon.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Central Committee Member of the State Administration Council Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, Members of the Central Committee Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein and Union Minister for Commerce Dr Pwint San, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Aung Naing Oo, Auditor-General of the Union Dr Kan Zaw and Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar U Than Nyein.
The meeting discussed foreign trade conditions, the Central Bank’s selling foreign currency to banks for the smooth flow of foreign currency in the market, arrangements for the timely return of export earnings, the timeline of handling export earnings, ways to boost exports and the current high exchange rate, and how the government can provide effective assistance to stabilize prices and the currency. — MNA
