Myanmar team prepares for AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers

The Myanmar U-23 team is making final preparations for the Asian Cup U-23 Championship Qualifiers to be played in the last week of this month.
The Myanmar U-23 team is currently under training with 26 preliminary players and Myanmar football authorities will select 23 finalists soon for the tournament.
The Myanmar U-23 team has been under training at the camp since early September, reducing some players within a month, leaving only 26 players.
Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the Myanmar U-23 team has not been able to compete in long-term international tournaments and other qualifiers and thus the team is planning to play an international friendly match before the tourney.
The Myanmar U-23 team is planning to travel to an Asian country to play a friendly match before heading to Kyrgyzstan for the tournament, officials said.
The 2022 Asian Cup U-23 Group I matches will be held from 27 October to 2 November.
Group I comprised with team Myanmar, Viet Nam and China Taipei team.
The Myanmar team has been planning to play a friendly match in the third week of October and will travel to Kyrgyzstan after the friendly match.
The Myanmar team will play against China Taipei on 30 October and Viet Nam on 2 November in the Asian Cup U-23 Championship Qualifiers. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
