Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, in his capacity as chairman of the Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of Union Day Organizing Committee presided over the 1/2022 committee coordination meeting yesterday.
First, the Union minister said the Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of Union Day on 12 February 2022 will be conducted with military parade, which was also presented in terms of three former presidents after the country gained its independence and also staged on 4 January 2015 on the 67th Independence Day.
He highlighted the aims of staging military parade and holding of current meeting to make preparations by the respective ministries and role of regions/stages chief ministers explained in the previous virtual meeting on 31 Decemebr 2021.
Committee vice-chairman Union Minister U Min Thein Zan and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Maung Maung made remarks.
The committee chairman played the record photos of military parade staged in 2015 and discussed the further preparations for the ceremony.
The committee secretary and other officials briefed the organizing of committee and sub-committees on duty assignements. — MNA
