Union Construction Minister inspects production of bridge girders, accessories in Yangon Region

Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay visited the J&M Steel Solutions Co., Ltd., a joint venture between the Ministry of Construction and JFE Engineering Corporation of Japan on Shukhintha circular road, Thakayta Township in Yangon Region yesterday morning.
On his arrival, an official from the J & M Steel Solutions Co., Ltd explained the steel production inside the factory.
After that, the Union minister and party inspected the production of bridge piers to be sent to Bangladesh.
The J&M Steel Solutions plant in Yangon, a joint venture between the Ministry of Construction and Japan’s JFE Engineering Corporation, manufactures bridge piers and accessories locally as well as bridge piers ordered from abroad.
Afterwards, the Union minister and party visited the office of (11) Bridge Task Force, Department of Bridges and Bridge Construction Team (1) and met the staff.
“It is necessary to follow the instructions of the Ministry of Health in carrying out activities during the COVID-19 period,” the Union minister said.
“It is also necessary to abide by the nine objectives and five future activities of the State Administrative Council. Employees must be free from party politics. It is necessary to follow the staff rules and regulations.
“We need to meet the quality standards and innovations of the bridge designs for which we are responsible. The role of staff is very important for the development of the country. It is needed to attend training courses to enhance quality and capacity,” the Union minister added.
He also instructed responsible persons to work hard for the success of their works. Next, the director-general and officials clarified the reports.
Next, the Union minister and party visited the Department of Bridges and inspected the design department rooms and office buildings and made necessary instructions. — MNA
