Union Health Minister meets delegation led by ASEAN Secretary-General

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win received a delegation led by ASEAN Secretary-General Dato Lim Jock Hoi at the Union Minister’s guest hall of the Ministry of Health in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
During the meeting, they discussed the supply of COVID-19 vaccines to Myanmar by the COVID-19 ASEAN Response Fund.
From November 2021, more than 50 types of medicines and medical supplies worth USD1,188,748 have been distributed to 58 hospitals and 17 regional and state public health departments through the ASEAN AHA Centre and the Myanmar Red Cross Society to provide humanitarian assistance to COVID-19 preventive measures in Myanmar as the first and second grants, the Union Minister underlined.
Conditions for collaborating for the third grant and medical treatment and vaccination supervised by the Ministry of Health for the COVID-19 disease prevention, control and treatment activities were also discussed.
The Ministry and the ASEAN Secretariat held a cordial exchange of views on further cooperation in the provision of the COVID-19 vaccines and took a group photo.
The deputy minister, the directors-general and responsible persons, the ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General, senior officials from the ASEAN Secretariat and officials from the ASEAN AHA Centre attended the ceremony. — MNA
