Pilgrims throng Mandalay famous pagodas on Thingyan eve

Pilgrims are seen at one of the famous pagodas in Mandalay.

On the Myanmar Traditional Thingyan eve day, Mandalay pagodas are crowded with pilgrims and meditators.
On the morning of Maha Thingyan eve day, locals started donating alms, water and gold foils at Mandalay famous pagodas such as Maha Muni Buddha Image, Kyauktawgyi, Kuthodaw and Aungtawmu and then some observe meditation at religious resorts.
In the evening, the municipal Thingyan choral group, film stars and dance troupes of ministries and arts departments performed Thingyan songs and choral dances. — Maung Aye Chan/GNLM
