Fresher welcome and subject orientation ceremonies were held respectively yesterday at 60 technological and computer universities under the Department of Advanced Science and Technology (DAST) of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
A total of 57,218 – 40,447 students in 33 technological universities, and 16,771 students in 27 universities of computer studies will attend since the university reopening period across the country.
A total of 1,884 first-year undergraduate students were warmly welcomed to relevant universities by rectors and deputy pro-rectors and faculty members at the fresher welcome and subject orientation ceremonies were held on 12 May.
Not only undergraduate and postgraduate courses were opened at technological and computer universities but also master and doctoral programmes were opened at 33 technical universities and 27 universities of computer studies across the country.
Moreover, the University of Information Technology opened for engineering (honours) first-year students in the 2019-2020 Academic Year, the third year to fourth-year (honours) students in the 2021-2022 Academic Year and the students who have been passed the matriculation exam in 2020 of the 2022-2023 Academic Year.
The technological universities and computer universities under the Department of Advanced Science and Technology (DAST) of the Ministry of Science and Technology admitted students for the first year of the 2022-2023 Academic Year on 20 April and for the programmes of the 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 academic years on 2 May. — MNA
