Central Bank of Russia, CBM convene 2nd meeting of banking cooperation

The 2nd meeting of banking cooperation between the Central Bank of Russia and Central Bank of Myanmar was held virtually at 2:30 pm on 22 July.
Deputy Governor Daw Than Than Swe of the Central Bank of Myanmar and senior officials, State-owned banks, private banks and senior officials of private banks from Myanmar, the Central Bank of Russia and Russian banks attended the meeting.
First, the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar gave the opening speech and then followed by the Director Mr Andrey Lipin of the International Cooperation Department under the Central Bank of Russia.
Afterwards, representatives from the VTB Bank, Credit Bank of Moscow and Promsvyazbank clarified the details regarding the procedures of bank account opening between the banks.
Then, the central banks from two sides shared their knowledge and facts concerning the needs of the infrastructure/network for the financial messaging system of the Bank of Russia (SPFS), the information about opening the bank account that Myanmar banks inquire and the bank account opening procedure with both local currency and foreign currency that operates with SPFS system, by responding each other’s questions.
Later, Daw Than Than Swe, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar and Mr Andrey Lipin, the Director of the Central Bank of Russia delivered concluding remarks. — MNA
