Drugs captured in Waimaw, Mogok and Tachilek townships

On 17 August at 4:50 pm, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched a room of a guesthouse and captured 5,550 stimulant tablets from Ma Aye Aye Mar who stayed in room No 106.
Similarly, at 3:30 pm on the same day, Police Force searched the house of Hla Min (aka) Aike Maung in Shwebontha Ward of Mogok township and seized 0.2 kilogramme of heroin and 5,180 stimulant tablets in a storeroom of his house.
Afterwards, at 9:30 am, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched a house of Aike Aye (aka) Sai Aye in Yankham village of Tachilek township and impounded 4,000 stimulant tablets, several arms and ammunition including an AK-47 and four bullets with 80 cartridges, 10,000 stimulant tablets and two kilogrammes of stimulant powder but Aike Aye (aka) Sai Aye was not found.
The suspects are prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, it is learnt. —MNA
