The men’s and women’s U-25, and U-18 basketball tournament organized by the Myanmar Basketball Federation was held at the National Indoor Stadium-1 in Yangon yesterday morning.
On the first day of the tournament, a total of 66 events took place including U-25 Men’s Tournament, U-18 Men’s Tournament, and U-25, and U-18 Women’s Round Robin Tournament.
“We focus on U-18 women’s event. In order to turn out the new generation players, we have to hold a 3×3 tournament as 3×3 can’t stand at an advantage. After attacking, we can defend, and after defending, we can attack. We have to perform well,” said Daw Ohnma Aung, Joint-Secretary of the Myanmar Basketball Federation.
About 200 athletes from teams from Yangon, Toungoo, Pyay, DaikU, Kayin, Taunggyi and Mon state participated in the tourney which will last until 11 October, and anyone can watch for free.
