Myanmar Delegation attends 5th Meeting of High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision

The 5th Meeting of the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision (5th HLTF-ACV) was held in Hyatt Regency Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 6 to 7 November 2022.
The meeting was co-chaired by Cambodia and Malaysia and also attended by eminent persons, high-level representatives and delegates from ASEAN member states and the deputy secretary-general for the ASEAN political and security community. Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister Dr Wah Wah Maung of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and the eminent person of Myanmar to HLTF-ACV, attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed matters pertaining to the core elements of ASEAN, Community’s Post-2025 Vision, draft recommendations on the strengthening of ASEAN’s capacity and institutional effectiveness which will be submitted to the 31st ASEAN Coordinating Meeting for onward transmission to the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits as mandated by ASEAN Foreign Ministers, the modalities for stakeholders’ consultation and progress report to be submitted to the Joint Consultative Meeting and ASEAN Coordination Council Meeting.
The establishment of the High-Level Task Force (HLTF) was agreed upon at the 38th and 39th ASEAN Summits which were held on 16 October 2022 with the aim of developing the ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision. The High-Level Task Force is composed of eminent persons and high-level representatives from ASEAN member states. — MNA
