Myanmar ships nearly 100,000 tonnes of fishery products to Thailand in past seven months

Myanmar conveyed nearly 100,000 tonnes of fishery products to Ranong, Thailand through the Kawthoung border post in Taninthayi Region in the past seven months of the current financial year 2022-2023, according to the Department of Fisheries.
Between 1 April and 31 October in the current FY, a total of 99,185.775 tonnes of fish and shrimp was shipped to Ranong, Thailand through Kawthoung FOB checkpoint, generating an income of US$60 million and over Baht1,600 million, the Fisheries Department’s data showed.
Myanmar daily delivers fishery products with 26 trawlers from Kawthoung to Ranong. The main export items are crayfish, scorpion prawn, crab, Mollusca, mussels, clam, squid, octopus, dried fish, dried shrimp and salted fish.
Myanmar’s fishery exports as of 4 November in the current FY have amounted to over $427 million, the Ministry of Commerce’s statistics indicated.
The figures decreased from $427.772 million in the corresponding period of the last mini-budget period 2021-2022. — TWA/GNLM
