Ngaphe Township cultivates 1,085 acres of Arabica coffee plantations

The Nat Yay Kan coffee farm in Ngaphe Township produces 3.26 tonnes of coffee beans and about 43 tonnes by private coffee farms, totalling over 46.26 tonnes per year.

The Arabica coffee (Viet Nam) is planted in the highland region (Nat Yay Kan) of Ngaphe Township of Minbu District of Magway Region and 1,085 acres of Arabica upland coffee are successfully cultivated to date.
The highland area (Nat Yay Kan) is located on Minbu-An road and the local residents grow coffee, tea leaf, elephant foot yam, avocado, citrus, chilli, banana, jackfruit and other perennial trees. There is a total of 1,085 acres of Arabica upland coffee plantation – 29 acres at Nat Yay Kan coffee farm of Crop Division of Ngaphe Township Agriculture Department and 1,056 acres of private farms at 10 village-tracts.
According to the coffee plantation expansion project, it is estimated to grow 12,500 acres of highland Arabica coffee in five years with 2,500 acres per year on fallow and virgin lands and forest reserves. It will develop on 2,500acres of land – 850acres of fallow and virgin lands and 1650 acres of forest reserve while there will be 50 acres in Hlaing village, 125 acres in Gokkyi village, 100 acres in Bonebaw village, 200acres in Pabway village, 125 acres in Sontet village and 250acres in Linte village. Officials invited private entrepreneurs and farmers to meet the target plantation.
The Nat Yay Kan coffee farm in Ngaphe Township produces 3.26 tonnes of coffee beans and about 43 tonnes by private coffee farms, totalling over 46.26 tonnes per year.
