MoI staff who participated in Diamond Jubilee Independence Day celebration honoured

The ceremony to honour the staff of the Ministry of Information at the Ministry of Information took place in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday evening.
Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and wife Daw Khin Swe Win, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint and wife Daw Win Yi, the permanent secretary and wife, directors-general and staff attended the ceremony.
Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn delivered the opening speech. In his speech, he said that the ceremony was a special programme held in honour of the staff who participated in the 75th Anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) Independence Day celebration. It was necessary to record and honour the staff who provided comprehensive support from all sides for the success of the Independence Day celebrations.
After that, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint gave certificates of honour to 165 staff who participated in the military demonstration and two staff each from the Minister’s office, MRTV, IPRD, Printing and Publishing Department, News and Periodicals Enterprise accepted.
Then, the Union Minister gave K30,000 each to 272 staff who participated in various sectors.
The first, second, third and special prize winners in the Karaoke song contest were presented with prizes by the Union minister and officials.
Finally, raffle were opened for the staff who were present at the ceremony. — MNA/KZW
