Precautionary measures underway in Rakhine State

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and party view round the precautionary measures in Rakhine State yesterday.

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, together with the state ministers and state-level departmental officials, closely supervised the arrangements for the movement of the residents in some areas of Sittway township where the storm is likely to hit.
Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htin Lin and party first met the residents who live on Mizan Strand Road in Sittway township and discussed the situation of the storm and preventive activities, movement of the elderly, children and pregnant women to safe places.
Afterwards, the Rakhine State chief minister and party met with the vendors at the Sittway Myoma Market and called for the movement of foodstuffs and perishable goods to move to a safe place in the case of a storm.
The Rakhine State chief minister, accompanied by officials, also inspected the Government Technical High School in Basaya of West Sanpya ward in Sittway and the principal of the school and officials explained the arrangements being made to house the local people in the event of a storm. In addition, he met the residents of Basaya of West Sanpya ward and discussed the situation of the evacuation of people from the storm.
Next, the Rakhine State chief minister visited the Sittway University and inspected the arrangements being made for the relocation of the people who live in the Thechaung IDP camp. In the evening, he met the local people vendors near Yanpyay Manpyay Pagoda in Sittway and advised them to move to a safe place.
