National Disaster Management Committee Vice-Chair 1 discusses proper methods of cash donations for Cyclone Mocha victims

Deputy Prime Minister Union Home Affairs Minister Lt-Gen Soe Htut chairs the coordination meeting yesterday.

State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut, in his capacity as Vice-Chair 1 of the National Disaster Management Committee (NDMC), attended the coordination meeting of the fundraising and regulatory work committee held at the Disaster Management Centre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
First, he said that the emergency response tasks, recuse work and rehabilitation processes are being conducted in Cyclone Mocha-affected areas using cash donations and items donated by local and foreign donors. It also arranges to receive and allocate cash donations systematically. It also announces the account numbers for donations. It should arrange proper methods as per the law, financial rules and regulations for the people to make cash donations easily regardless of the amount.
Then, the vice-chair of the work committee Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win discussed the methods for cash donation like direct payment in cash at the banks and other matters.
The attendees coordinated the discussion and the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the electronic payment system and mobile payment system for making cash donations for Cyclone Mocha victims and concluded the meeting. — MNA/KTZH
