Shwedagon to hold Maha Samaya Day on Nayon full moon day

The Maha Samaya Day was convened at Shwedagon Pagoda in 2022.

The Maha Samaya Day will be celebrated at the Shwedagon Pagoda on 2 June (Nayon full moon day), according to the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees.
Early in the morning of the full moon day of Nayon, soon (alms meal) will be offered to the Shwedagon Pagoda dedicating to the Lord Buddha and offerings donated to Ovadacariya Sayadaws of the Shwedagon Pagoda.
Sayadaws will deliver sermons regarding the emergence of the Maha Samaya Day in the prayer hall and share merits. Afterwards, religious organizations and staff of the pagoda will worship the pagoda going round it in a clockwise procession and reciting the Maha Samaya Sutta. — TWA/MKKS
