Planning Conference of ADMM-Plus Experts’ Working Group on Counter-Terrorism co-chaired by Myanmar and the Russian Federation held

Under a three-year working plan of the ADMM-Plus Experts’ Working Group on Counter-Terrorism, the Planning Conference of ADMM-Plus Experts’ Working Group on Counter-Terrorism co-chaired by Myanmar and the Russian Federation was held via the hybrid system at Khabarovsk on 6 and 7 June 2023.
Delegations from Myanmar, Russia, Cambodia, China, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia and India attended the meeting while representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Viet Nam joined it through videoconferencing.
Myanmar and the Russian Federation, co-chairs of the conference, made opening remarks at the meeting. Next, participants frankly discussed measures pertaining to cooperation in counter-terrorism operations among the countries and future cooperation plans for regional counter-terrorism operations.
Myanmar delegation distributed publications on which the current political situation of Myanmar, terrorist attacks and evidence of acts of violence committed by the terrorists called NUG and PDF on civilian targets, factors to declare the NUG group as a terrorist group and counter-terrorism measures of the State Administration Council (SAC) are written in English, Russian and Chinese languages as well as memory sticks, that contain the said-content, to the attendees in order to convey the true stories in Myanmar, it is reported. — MNA
