Illegal foodstuffs, consumer goods and vehicles confiscated

Under the supervision of the Yangon Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force, the No 2 Traffic Police branch seized a Toyota Alphard (worth K4 million) without a licence near Yangon-Nyaungdon Road in Htantabin township on 17 June. The action was taken under the Export and Import Law.
A combined team under the management of the Sagaing Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force impounded an unregistered Toyota Passo (worth K1.5 million) at the Paewai checkpoint. The action was taken under the Export and Import Law.
The Myeik Township Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force nabbed two kinds of goods (worth about K1.96 million), including 480 bottles of Big Cola energy drink, without official documents at a warehouse on Mindhamma Street in Myeik township on 17 June and a Jinbei Haise minibus (approximate value of K35 million) heading to Dawei from Kawthoung carrying 2,000 Esty collagen soaps (worth K12 million) without official documents on 18 June. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
In addition, a combined team of the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint made unexpected checks on 18 June and confiscated a Toyota Hilux (estimated value of K17 million) carrying 1,440 litres of Gaysorn vegetable cooking oil (worth K3.6 million) near the detour of Thitsaintbin village at the 98/4 Milepost on Pyidaungsu Highway. These action was taken under Customs procedures.
As a result, a total of seven arrests were made on 17 and 18 June, with an estimated value of K75.06 million, according to the report by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
