Malicious news media are spreading false information on social networking sites that more than 10 houses in Saukchonpauk Village, Madaya Township, Mandalay Region, were destroyed by fire due to the security forces entering the village on 9 January and burning them down.
According to a security official from the area, security forces did not go to the vicinity of the village and there were no security operations in the area on 9 January. Malicious news media are creating misinformation, poisoning the news to scare the public, and spread propaganda to incite terrorists to carry out terrorist acts. — MNA/KZL
