Misinformation spread regarding Kawlin incident

Reports of malacious media outlets circulating misinformation claim that security forces burned and destroyed several villages, including Thakhukkon Village, Ywama Village, Pekon Village, Kyauktan Village, and Ngagyiai Village in Kawlin Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in the arrest and death of three civilians.
However, according to a security official, the incident occurred after KIA and PDF terrorists retreated from Kawlin. Upon their retreat, they opened fire on security forces who were clearing mines and conducting rehabilitation work in the town. The terrorists then intentionally fired heavy weapons into the villages, resulting in injuries and fatalities.
These malacious media outlets are spreading propaganda on social networks to mislead the public with false information. They aim to blame the security forces and cover up the actions of the terrorists. — MNA/TKO
