The delegation led by Mr Alounkeo Kittikhoun, special envoy of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar met with seven NCA-signatory EAOs in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
It was attended by Mr Alounkeo Kittikhoun, Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar and officials of NCA-signatory EAOs: Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), KNU/KNLA-Peace Council, Lahu Democratic Union (LDU), Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO), Democratic Kayin Benevolent Army (DKBA), New Mon State Party (NMSP), Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) and Peace Process Steering Team (PPST).
The Special Envoy addressed the meeting and discussed issues related to the Five-Point Consensus of ASEAN, peace process and humanitarian assistance in Myanmar.
Then, Dr Naw Kapaw Htoo, Vice-Chair of the KNU/KNLA-Peace Council, gave an introductory speech on behalf of the participating NCA signatories. The EAOs openly discussed the views of each group. Next, U Khun Okkar, Patron of PNLO, expressed words of thanks, and the Special Envoy made a concluding remark. — MNA/KTZH
