Avocado export to Thailand expects to reach 1000 tonnes this year

The Myanmar Avocado Producer and Exporter Association expects to export 1000 tonnes of avocados to Thailand through Tachilek border this avocado season, according to an official.

From October 2023, Myanmar Hass avocados from southern Shan state is selling at the maximum export price of K3000 per kilo.

“At the moment, we only export to Thailand. Our export target for this season is around 1000 tonnes. Despite offers from China and Russia, we are still unable to export due to transportation difficulties,” he said.

Export quality Hass avocados are grown mainly in southern and northern Shan state as well as in PyinOoLwin township, Mandalay region.
