Best villages in use of alternative fuels to firewood honoured

The Dry Zone Greening Department of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation honoured the best villages that used alternative fuels to firewood with awards at the Umbra Hotel in Wat Kyi Inn Village, NyaungU Township on Saturday.
Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation Dr Ye Myint Swe and Mandalay Region minster for natural resource and environmental conservation U Myo Thit delivered speeches at the awarding event.
Among the exemplary villages that have been set in use of alternatives to firewood, the three best villages — Gyo Gyar Village in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, Htone Ma Gyi Village in Minbu Township, Magwe Region and Ta Pauk Yone Village in NyaungU Township, Mandalay Region were presented with prizes by the Deputy Minister and the Mandalay Region minster.
The Deputy Minister and the Mandalay Region minster then observed the alternative fuels to firewood and solar equipment displayed at the Dry Zone Greening Department.
