Drugs, ammunition worth K105.37 bln seized in Thazi, Thingangyun Townships

A total of K105.37 billion worth of three tonnes of Ice (Methamphetamine), 30.86 million stimulant tablets, and ammunition were seized in Thazi and Thingangyun townships, as stated by the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members from the security force stopped and searched an 18-wheel Nissan truck with a trailer driven by Kyaw Zin Htun and accompanied by Htun Wai (aka) Pho Zaka near Kywaltatson village on the Taunggyi-Thazi Road in Thasi township at 10 am on 13 August.
The police confiscated a total of three tonnes of Ice, 29 million stimulant tablets, and 20,000 rounds of 7.62 ammunition that were hidden in the coal dust of the vehicle.
After conducting an interrogation, the police arrested Ko Htun (aka) Htun Min Latt and Kyaw Hlaing (aka) Ko Ko Haing, accomplices in the drug trafficking, at the 201st-Mile checkpoint in Dekkhina Thiri township at 3 pm on 14 August.
Additionally, the police force apprehended Win Htun Oo with 1.86 million stimulant tablets and 4.8 kilograms of Ice on Inginmyine Street in Thingangyun township at 1:30 pm on 15 August.
Legal action has been taken against the offenders, and an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators in the crime chain.
Likewise, the financial profits and assets of the parties involved in the case will be prosecuted under the Anti-Money Laundering Law. — MNA/MKKS
