Famous pagodas in Mandalay packed with pilgrims on Abhidhamma Day

The residents in each township of Mandalay Region celebrated the full moon day of Thadingyut (Abhidhamma Day), offering flowers, water and oil lights dedicating to the Lord Buddha and sharing merits gained.
The devotees presented flowers, water, oil lights and gold foils to Maha Muni Buddha Image on the early morning of full moon day, in line with the health guidelines issued by the Pagoda Trustees Board.
Furthermore, pilgrims visited Shwekyeemyin Pagoda, Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, Sandamuni Pagoda, Aungtawmu Pagoda, and Phayani Pagoda, made merits and prayed for wellbeing. They were seen reciting sermons.
Additionally, according to the Buddhism, the devotees offered alms and recited sermons, Paritta, Pathana Pali verses and Dhammacakka Sutta. They also paied respects to the patients and the elder people and prayed for peace, health and prosperity.
