Forest Dept seizes illegal timbers across regions and states

The Forest Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation implements the Community Monitoring and Reporting System (CMRS) to curb illegal timbers and forest products.
According to the data collected between 21 to 27 March, the department seized a total of 248.0846 tonnes of illegal timbers — 60.8820 tonnes of teak, 53.4678 tonnes of hardwood and 133.7348 tonnes of others in regions/states including Nay Pyi Taw and arrested 39 suspects with 17 vehicles, the department stated. — MNA
