Gov’t distributes basic foodstuffs in Nay Pyi Taw

Nay Pyi taw authorities distributed five kinds of basic foodstuffs —rice, oil, salt, bean, and onion— to the households with no regular income in Tatkon Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area yesterday.
Donation of basic foodstuffs for the households in eight townships of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area began on 10 April.
The households to be provided with foodstuffs include 5,519 households in Zebuthiri Township, 12,457 in Pubbathiri Township, 6,187 in Dekkhinathiri Township, 9,186 in Ottarathiri Township, 11,655 in Zeyathiri Township, 27,428 households in Pyinmana Township, 38,478 households in Lewe Township, and 29,918 in Tatkon Township.
Upon the basic foodstuffs donation in Tatkon Township, its administrator U Zaw Min said, “Five kinds of basic food necessities were distributed in our township today. The foodstuffs were distributed via village administrators and 100-household leaders.” A total of 29,918 households in six wards and 49 village-tracts of Tatkon Township were provided yesterday. The donation in the remaining townships will be continued. Ottarathiri Township Administrator U Naing Oo said, “More than 9,000 households in two wards and eight village-tracts in Ottathiri Township received the food aid including rice, onion, salt and bean. Oil for the over 2,000 households will be provided tomorrow.”
Moreover, philanthropic organizations, well-wishers, and businesspersons are also donating basic essentials for the people in need in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.— Han Lin Naing (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
