High-Level Forum: Deputy Information Minister discussed ASEAN-China media relations

U Aung Hla Tun, Deputy Minister for Information, attended the two events of High-Level Conference on ASEAN-China Media Cooperation and the ASEAN-China High Level Media Forum in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 23 and 24 July.
The opening ceremony of the High-Level Conference on ASEAN-China Media Cooperation was also held at Hotel Mulia Senayan on 23 July morning.
It was attended by ministers and deputy ministers from ASEAN countries, Vice-minister of National Radio and Television Administration Mr Fan Weiping, Ambassador of the Chinese Mission to ASEAN Mr Huang Xilian, delegates from Chinese universities and TV stations, Deputy Secretary-Genaral for ASCC Mr. Kung Phoak, and officials.
At the conference, the deputy minister contributed an idea in building closer ASEAN-China relations.
With the theme of “Connected for a Better Future in Digital Age”, the ASEAN-China High Level Media Forum was held on 24 July morning.
At the forum, Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun took part as a panelist in the discussion of ‘The Role of Media in Building a Closer ASEAN-China Community with a Shared Future’, and talked about the important role of media in digital age, comparing with the experiences of Myanmar.
In the afternoon, the deputy minister and party visited the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta. They were welcomed by U Min Lwin, Head of Permanent Mission of Myanmar to ASEAN, and officials. They looked around the library and the exhibitions at the Secretariat and its new office. — MNA
