Imports of anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products continue daily

Anti-COVID devices and medical aids are daily imported via land borders and transported to the needed regions.

The Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, by arranging continuous importation with standard operating procedures.
On 15 September (yesterday), anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products including oxygen plants and concentrators were imported by six companies and transported by eight vehicles.
A total of 5,087 empty oxygen cylinders, seven oxygen plants, two oxygen refilling machines for hospital use, 96 oxygen concentrators for home use, 477 sets of COVID-19 test kits, two tonnes of gloves, and 10 tonnes of masks were imported via Chinshwehaw trading posts, ports, and Yangon International Airport.
Seven oxygen plants, three from the port and four from the Chinshwehaw border post were imported yesterday.
Four oxygen plants were transported to Yangon, and one each to Pakokku, Aunglan and Maubin respectively.
Officials from the relevant departments are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for better importation.
It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, facilitating the importation of essential medical supplies required in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, as well as contact persons for inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website — www.commerce.gov.mm. — MNA
