Information Team of the State Administration Council holds press conference 10/2021

The Information Team of the State Administration Council held the press conference No 10/2021 at the Ministry of Information yesterday afternoon.
Leader of the Information Team Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, member of the Union Election Commission U Khin Maung Oo, spokespersons of departments and representatives of departmental information teams replied to queries raised by media.
First, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained the adherence to the five principles of peaceful coexistence of foreign policy, ASEAN Charter, ASEAN spirit and ASEAN ways, cooperation works with member countries in implementing the ASEAN Political and Security Community APSC, ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community ASCC and ASEAN Economic Community AEC when the country served the rotating ASEAN Chairmanship position in 2014, press release that states Myanmar has objected to the actions of some ASEAN member countries on matters of representation, including the participation in the ASEAN Summit, which are inconsistent with the ASEAN Charter and Principles and against the purpose of ASEAN, important role of geographical structure of Myanmar and international relations to be effective on such situation, reopening of basic education schools across the nation except 46 townships starting 1 November, work plans regarding lesson plans and tests, COVID-19 vaccine arrivals and vaccination processes for 24 targeted groups, vaccination coverage of the country, efforts of government, people, social welfare organizations and Tatmadaw in the third wave of COVID-19 and engagements with some ethnic armed groups.
Then, a video clip and PowerPoint presentation covering the threats of terrorist groups NUG and PDF such as their Hit List, deaths of monks, education staff, government employees and innocent people due to their terrorist attacks, bomb and arson attacks on government-owned and privately-owned buildings, roads and bridges, organizing terrorist groups by NUG and CRPH, terrorist attacks launched by Phyo Zeyar Thaw, NLD member in Yangon, seizure of weapons, ammunitions and other materials and confessions of suspects were also played.
Then, UEC Member U Khin Maung Oo made another PowerPoint presentation on the inspection of existing political party lists, discussion about the use of PR, action taken against those who participated in conducting voting frauds and lawless actions in the 2020 multiparty democracy general election and other work plans including compiling of voter lists and reviewing of law and rules.
Then, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, UEC Member U Khin Maung Oo and officials replied to queries raised by media.
The press conference was also attended by representatives of Myanmar-based foreign embassies, members of the Information Team of the State Administration Council, officials of the Tatmadaw Information Team, guests and reporters from local news agencies, daily newspapers, local TV channels and local-based foreign news agencies.—MNA
