Kyigon-Kalay road section being upgraded for better transportation

Public Works under the Ministry of Construction is taking responsibility for repaving the two miles and one furlong long section with asphalt concrete on Kyigon-Kalay Road in 2014-15 fiscal year.
The government of Sagaing Region spent K10 million from the Union fund on tarmacking the road section which is the India-Myanmar friendship road, a source said.
On Wednesday, Chairman of Kalay District Management Committee U Maung Htoo inspected the progress of repaving the road section and gave instructions on timely completion of the tasks.
The Kyigon-Kalay Road is linking Kalay-Tamu Road, Kalay-Yargyi Road, Kalay-Mahamyaing Road and Kalay-Mawlaik Road for ensuring swift flow of commodities and smooth transportation of passengers.—Joe Net
