Myanmar Airways International (MAI) celebrated its 30th Anniversary at Lotte Hotel in Yangon yesterday.
At the event, the officials of MAI clarified the progresses to date since its establishment, the challenges and survival of airlines during the outbreak of COVID-19, and future plans of MAI to promote the aviation sector of the country, and presented honorary awards to partner companies.
MAI is a Myanmar national-owned private company and the safety and comfort of our passengers are the airline’s priority regardless of the profits of the airline. The MAI has never suspended flights while the country faces natural disasters and other cases. It also operated Relief Flight in bringing back Myanmar citizens in the outbreak of COVID-19.
It also runs MAI Inflight Catering Services and Myanmar Auspicious Life Bakery & Kitchen to provide healthy meals to the passengers on board and arranges to conduct Aviation related training courses.
MAI runs scheduled flights and chartered flights using 15 planes including its fleet of Air Bus Fleet, Embraer E-190 and ATR-72 Fleet. It will expand its fleet to 25 in 2024-2025 aiming to become a great airline in the country. — Ko Nyi Lay/KTZH
