Confiscation of illegal items: Timbers, fuel oil, animals, industrial materials and vehicles

The combined teams under Magway Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force impounded nine smuggled oxen worth K8.18 million near a monastery in Thaedaw village in Thayet township and an unregistered Toyota Mark X (approximate value of K5 million) in Theinga ward in Magway township on 14 August. The action was taken under the Essential Goods and Services Law and the Export and Import Law.
Similarly, an on-duty team at the Yangon International Airport (Import Desk) confiscated two sets of polishing machines worth K4.2 million that exceeded the 61 days of VPA on 14 August. The action was conducted as per Customs procedures.
Additionally, a total of 3.218 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K482,820 was seized in Toungoo district on 15 August. The action was taken under the Forest Law. On the same day, the combined on-duty teams captured an unregistered UD vehicle (estimated value of K13 million) in Monywa township, an unregistered Toyota Wish (approximate value K15 million) at the Kyweye checkpoint in Alone in Monywa township and 1,200 gallons of illegal fuel oil (premium diesel worth K5.76 million) in Nandawun ward in Monywa township. The action was taken under the Export and Import Law and the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law.
A total of seven arrests were made on 14 and 15 August, with an estimated value of K51,622,820, as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
