The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) has parted ways with Myanmar national women’s football head coach U Win Thu Moe on the expiration of his contract, according to a statement released by the MFF yesterday.
The decision to retire the head coach was made at the MFF’s coordination meeting, held on 31 December.
MFF is now urgently seeking a new head coach, noted a source working with the federation.
U Win Thu Moe helped the Myanmar team win the bronze medal in the 2019 South East Asian Games, as well as another bronze medal in the previous AFF Women’s Championship, and took the gold medal at the India Hero Gold Cup 2019.
The new head coach will be appointed before the Myanmar national women’s football team plays in international matches next month.
The Myanmar women’s football team will be participating in the qualifiers for the women’s football event of the Tokyo Olympics, to be held in February 2020.
