With the assistance of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) will roll out an online platform where investors can apply for MIC permits and endorsements, said U Thant Sin Lwin, Director-General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).
The MIC and GIZ are jointly developing the online investment application system to facilitate the investment process, he said.
“Investors would be able to upload their application form, collect data, and make enquiries through the digital platform, under the Myanmar Investment Law. Investors would not need to come to office.
We will provide all necessary information online with the help of GIZ,” said U Thant Sin Lwin.
To implement the online investment application system, GIZ will spend from the fund allocated to Myanmar.
At present, it is mandatory for companies to register on the online registry system MyCO, under the Myanmar Companies Law, which was enacted in 2017. Although companies can file applications manually, all of them are opting to file them online, said officials. (Translated by Ei Myat Mon)
