MoIP Union Minister receives Sri Lankan Ambassador to Myanmar

The Sri Lankan ambassador calls on Union Minister U Myint Kyaing yesterday.

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Sri Lankan Ambassador to Myanmar Mr J M J P Bandara at the ministry yesterday afternoon.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister U Htay Hlaing, Permanent Secretary U Win Zaw Aung, the director-general of the Immigration Department and officials.
During the meeting, both sides frankly and cordially discussed matters related to cooperation between Myanmar and Sri Lanka on immigration-related activities and reciprocal exemption status for visas, extending the validity of the mutual visa exemption agreement (MoU) between Myanmar and Sri Lanka in 2009, regarding Sri Lankan citizens arriving in Myanmar due to human trafficking, the procedures to be followed as per the immigration procedures and conditions for easily issuing passports and entry visas for Myanmar citizens who will go on pilgrimage to Sri Lanka. — MNA/TS
