Mother of the victim, Chinese man jailed for human trafficking

Mother of the victim of human trafficking, who sold her daughter to a Chinese man, and the Chinese man who forcibly cohabited with the victim was sentenced to 10 years in prison with labour in Kyaukse, Mandalay Region, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
Daw Pyone, the mother of the 14-year-old victim, who lives in Myitthar Township, Mandalay Region, received money from Law Pan (a) Arr Tae, a resident of Yunnan Province, China, to let him cohabit with her daughter.
A case was filed in the Myittha Township Police Station under Section 24 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law and the Kyaukse District Court sentenced defendant Daw Pyone and Law Pan (a) Arr Tae to 10 years each in prison with labour under the law. — MNA
