Myanmar Peace Centre organized a forum on “Youth and Peace” at Hotel Max here on Saturday, with MPC’s advisor U Tin Maung Than giving a talk on “Preparation of individual citizens for cooperation in peace process,” according to officials.
Prominent speakers gave talks on peace process and contemporary issues of the political, economic and social trends. According to organizers, the forum was aimed at arousing interest on young people to get involved in peace processes and cherish peace.
The forum drew officials from 33 ministries and young people of ethnic groups, and will continue up to 30 March. Similar forum also took place in Loikaw, Kayah State with the attendence of Union Minister at the President Office U Soe Thane, Vice Chairman of Union Peace Making Working Committee U Aung Min, KNPP Vice Chairman U Khu Oorei and others.
