The Myanmar Cultural Variety Show, organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, was held yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.
In the morning session, there were dance presentations from performers such as Kaung Che Thein Kha Yein, Kyan Daing Aung Yein, Ka Myo Koe Lee Nawaratsie Yein, and Ma Gite Lay Yein.
There were also displays of Kachin ethnic dancing, Kayah ethnic dancing, Pan Che Yein dancing, Bagan Yein dancing, and Mon Hintha Yein dancing, as well as Myanmar puppet shows. The performances involved horses, monkeys, ogres, alchemists and elephants.
In the afternoon, spectators enjoyed Chin traditional bamboo dancing, Thu Nge Taw Myanmar dancing, U Shwe Yoe and Daw Moe Myanmar puppet shows, Khit Byaw Myanmar dual dancing, Pyi Htaung Su Yein dancing, Kayin ethnic dancing, Rakhine ethnic dancing, Shan ethnic dancing, and Myanmar Ah-nyeint shows.
All these performances will be staged monthly, according to the official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
The shows can be attended free of charge. For the convenience of spectators and visitors, transportation will be provided under the management of Nay Pyi Taw Council Committee.
The entrance fee to the National Landmark Park for schoolchildren and students is Ks500 and Ks1000 for an adult, respectively. Discount prices will be occasionally offered. —Myanmar News Agency
