Myanmar face loss in 3rd place match of AFF U-18 Women’s Championship

The third-place match of the 2022 ASEAN U-18 Women’s Championship was held in Indonesia yesterday and the Thai team beat the Myanmar team 2-0.
The Myanmar team tried to get third place, but lost to the Thai team and missed out on a medal. Team Myanmar conceded one goal each in the first and second half and lost by two goals.
The Myanmar team made some changes to the starting lineup as some core players could not participate, and started with some reserve players.
The Myanmar team tried their best from the start, but the Thai team was able to play without any mistakes.
In the 21st minute, the Thai team scored the opening goal, and Manowan touched the ball into the net.
The second goal that ensured the victory for the Thai team was scored by Gina Saipan in the 90th + 1st minute.
Myanmar team tried to score an equalizing goal, but they could not use the opportunities and suffered the loss.
Team Myanmar beat Malaysia 2-0, and the Philippines 3-1 but lost to Australia 2-1 in the group stage.
Myanmar entered the semi-finals as a second-placed team in the group.
In the semi-finals, Viet Nam beat Myanmar 4-1 and in the third match, Myanmar lost to Thailand 0-2 and was satisfied with fourth place. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
