Myanmar judo team clinches impressive victory in 2023 Penang Invitational Judo Championship

In the Penang Invitational Judo Championship 2023, held in Penang, Malaysia, on 9 and 10 December 2023, Maung Aung Zay Htet secured a gold medal. Maung Htet Aung also claimed a gold medal in the 66-kilogramme category, while Maung Kyaw Khant Soe achieved victory with a gold medal in the 73-kg category. In the women’s 32-kg competition, Ma Hnin Oo Wuttyi won another gold medal. In the men’s 24-kg competition, Maung Bhone Pyae Chantha Tun secured a silver medal. Maung Aung Wai Phyo earned a silver medal in the 90-kg competition. For the men’s 50-kg category, Maung Khaing Khant claimed a bronze medal. In the women’s 57-kg competition, Ma Ngwe Pon Chit also earned a bronze medal. As for the Myanmar Judo Sports Team, nine athletes participated in the competition, securing eight medals. They won four gold medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals by the end of the competition. — MNA/KZW
