Myanmar’s fishery exports dramatically declined this year, owing to the COVID-19 impacts and the transport challenge.

Myanmar conveyed fisheries worth US$444.349 million to external markets in the past eight months of the current financial year 2023-2024, beginning 1 April, the statistics released by the Ministry of Commerce indicated.
The fishery export value plunged from $487.323 million recorded in the year-ago period, indicating a decrease of $42.974 million.

More than 20 fish species, including hilsa, rohu, catfish, and seabass, are delivered to foreign markets, according to the Myanmar Fisheries Federation.
