New documentary TV series on Chinese history launched

The documentary TV series ‘Marching on the Main Road’ was introduced in a launch ceremony held at Rosewood Hotel, Yangon, at 2 pm yesterday.
Firstly, Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint met with Mr Xu Lin, Minister of the State Council Information Office of China (SCIOC), at the guest hall of Rosewood Hotel and discussed matters related to information of both countries.
Next, the Union Minister and the SCIOC Minister attended the launch ceremony of ‘Marching on the Main Road’.
Students of Pann Mudra group of the National University of Arts and Culture, Yangon, performed Myanmar traditional ‘Bagan Khit Dance’ and ‘Pakan Dance’ and opened the ceremony.
Next, Counsellor Mr Yang Shou Zheng of the Chinese Embassy delivered the opening speech and Shwe Thanlwin Chairman U Kyaw Win gave an address.
Mr An Xiaoyu, Head of Asian and African Language Programme Centre of China Media Group, also gave an address, after which a sample of the TV series was played.
Afterwards, Union Minister Dr Pe Myint and SCIOC Minister Mr Xu Lin struck the ceremonial gong and announced broadcast of ‘Marching on the Main Road’ had begun. They then posed for a group documentary photo.
The documentary TV series is dubbed in Myanmar language and produced by China Media Group. It has 24 episodes that are each thirty minutes long. Starting from yesterday, the TV series can be viewed on Sky Net Knowledge TV channel at 7 pm daily.
The TV series includes Chinese President Mr Xi Jinping’s modern socialist system thinking that contributes to valuable historical documentary visual art and a lot of information to show how within 70 years, successive communist leaders of China have led its citizens to revolution, formation and reforms towards the socialist system and the major results and valuable experiences along the way.
The TV series shows the exciting events and important milestones of the People’s Republic of China during its period of paving a new path and also the daily lives of thousands of Chinese citizens.—Yi Yi Myint (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
