Over 100 peace talks held over two-year period

A total of 119 peace talks were held between March 2021 and 27 July 2023, according to the statement of the State Administration Council (SAC).
That announcement was made at the 22nd press conference of the Information Team of SAC held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
There were 71 peace conferences with NCA signatories and 25 with non-signatories and 23 with stakeholders and religious leaders including political parties.
Moreover, it also held three-day peace talks with five NCA signatories at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre between 26 and 28 June 2023. These five ethnic armed organizations are Peace Process Steering Team-PPST members – ALP, DKBA, KNU/KNLA-PC, LDU and PNLO which signed the NCA.
The peace talks focused on common agreements with NCA signatory EAOs, federal principles, humanitarian aid and plans to be able to hold meetings between the UWSA, NDAA, SSPP and political parties.
The SAC conducted 22 peace talks during the first six months of this year. – Htun Htun/KTZH
