Over 25,000 disciplinary actions taken against YBS for traffic violations

The Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC) has reported that YBS company vehicles have been involved in 25,530 traffic rule violations during the first 11 months of 2023.
The Disciplinary and Inspection Department has taken action against YBS bus lines operating in the Yangon Region.
From 1 January to 24 November, there were 19,078 instances of violations observed through surveillance records, 820 cases reported through direct complaints, six cases reported via Facebook complaints, 2,082 incidents of running red lights, 1,282 cases of speeding, 131 instances of deviating from prescribed routes, 312 cases of reckless driving, 853 other cases, 303 cases of prolonged stops at bus stops, 657 cases of improper overtaking, and five cases of unprofessional conduct towards passengers.
According to YRTC records, 12,829 cases have been resolved, while 12,701 remain pending. — TWA/MKKS
